This is a war the United States started with the goal of conquering Canada whilst Britain was occupied with Napoleon, and yet, British forces occupied a large number of coastal cities. What are you talking about? The last territory conquered by the UK in that war was only given back in 1819.

    Attempt to take Maryland, what?

This isn't true, where are you getting this from?

the colonists were British and Irish with a few Dutch thrown in, it was more like a civil war with one side on home turf and the other 3000 miles from home.
The colonists needed the French to bankrupt their economy to help to win.
Yet, Britain still failed to keep it's colonies. A victory for the Americans and French.

It is maybe about 14% at most it used to be significantly more not only as far back as 1776 but even 1980 etc..

The British population of American seems to be shrinking

America is an abstract idea and not an ethnicity and I think that is a great weakness IMHO.

Oh, yeah, post in a thread about British men being effeminate then mention the French in the same thread : epic fail ! Britain technically won most of its battles against the French e.g. Waterloo was very significant etc..

Americans know the French are a bunch of Sawed-off sissies :

Well obviously, England fought France on and off from the 12th century to the mid 19th century, 700 years, including a war that lasted 100 years.

The colonists werent French, their allies were. Feel proud of winning alongside the French lol,

Yet most Americans aren't a lot to do with and don't seem to stand the French very much.

How many Americans today, of those with ancestry actually going back to the 18th century, had loyalist ancestry?

Sorry, I did have my coffee , yet, but it seems to me that people of 100% English descent are about 8% of the USA population but since I have not finished my coffee , yet, I could be wrong but I doubt it. If one wants to add the more nebulous of English descent as in having some English ancestors then it would increase but that is disingenuous.

Where did you get that idea from? Englishmen are no more effeminate than any other nationality. I wouldn't think of Yorkshiremen or Liverpudlians as effeminate for example.

You posted two Irishmen. Great comedians. Yes Denis Leary is Irish as both his parents were born in Ireland and Denis Leary has both Irish and US citizenship.
