The winners of the election are socially right-wing (traditional).

In Western countries, "right-wing" means "socially right-wing/traditional" most of the time.

That's why Poland is called right-wing in the West. Nobody in the west knows that they are economically left, they just know a bit about their right-wing social views.

Online, many Polish [social] leftists also advertise to Westerners that PiS is a horrible right-wing party and that Poland is a country that should be more socially liberal like Western Europe is.

Okay but Italian right wing is surely more right wing than Polish Law and Justice, so why are there attacks against Poland?:

Funny, because Confederation has been accused of being Pro-Russian rather than Pro-German before.

Ok but real conservatives are in Confederation. Which for the first time made it into the parliament this year.

Now western public opinion will see that Law and Justice are not "Nazis" when compared to Confederation.

Korwin-Mikke from Confederation is famous for saying, for example, that "taxes were lower under Hitler".

PS. I have to say this all looks soooo familiar. Its like in Serbia, you got "centrist"-conservatives that formed the government and you got crazy radicals nationalists that aren't neither in opposition nor the government but they have just enough seats in the parliament and are famous for their wild rhetoric to scare the average humans, while they are actually on the government payroll and basically being protected by the ruling party.

I was only talking about why Poland is called right-wing, not necessarily why its demonized. Agreed that Poland is unfairly painted in a bad light by the Western media.

One user (supporter of Civic Coalition) wrote on a Polish forum:

"I'm very happy that finally every option will be represented in the parliament, from far right to far left - both in terms of economy and mindset."

He also wrote that he hopes Confederation will be criticizing Law and Justice's socialist economic policies.

We are not doing good in last 30 years so there is no talk about welfare state akin to Scandinavia, but you can say those are all the "children" of SFR Yugoslavian communist party which indeed tried to make such a state. Radical nationalists leader was convicted in ICTY Hague for war crimes. That alone should tell you all.

Poland is not a multi-ethnic state, in fact we are perhaps the most homogenous in Europe. So there are no opposing nationalist factions.

The opposing nationalist factions only emerged because there was no consensus on political and economic future of Yugoslavia by the representatives of the nations that were part of it. Certain figures wanted transformed, more democratic society, others wanted closed, nationalistic conservatism. As the Yugoslav secret services (controlled mostly by Serbs), who were at first selling the American weapons to the parts of the world where USA didn't had developed diplomatic relations but later in the late 1980's switch side for USSR (as it became evident that Berlin wall will fall), backed the nationalists every opportunity for restoration of democracy in SFR Yugoslavia was ruined, and it was paved path for the rising tribalism and its destruction. Like I said war is a side effect as greedy Yugoslav elite wanted to rob each of its citizen of anything worthy and what better way is there than war. Most of the locals proved to be very low IQ creatures which is why they actually believed that other side wants to harm them and that actually made it happen. So I don't think it started due to multi-ethnic structure but it certainly helped them to rob us.

Now, doesn't USA involves into Polish affairs? Don't you some make weapons in accordance to USA designs? What will happen when Poland tries to close its door for the USA? What do you think it will happen when there is large gap between conservative and liberal parts of Poland? See why I'm seeing parallels?

Law and Justice is the most bolshevik party in terms of economy since 1989. It's real shame that so many people don't understand how harmful are L&J's decisions. Poland needs policy which turns this country into free market economy, to achieve better results and higher GDP growth. I have never voted for PiS. The party which has plenty of sexual scandals on account, but is widely considered as conservative.
