Many Albanians that came to Greece self-Hellenized themselves - we didnt need to lift a finger. I guess many of them realised they have been fed a lie

Davenport stated in 1837 that were some people who believed that the "nucleus of the Suliote population consisted of Albanians" who had sought refuge in the mountains after the death of Skanderbeg, while other people claimed shepherds settled Souli from Gardhiki which in both cases was to escape Ottoman rule.[79] In 1851 British traveler Edward Lear wrote the "mountains of Suli" were "occupied by Albanians" in the early medieval period and stayed Christian after the surrounding area converted to Islam.[79] Traveler Henry Baerlin referred to the Souliotes as shouting their defiance in Albanian to "threatening Greek letters sent by Ali Pasha" during their wars.[82][83] Traveler Brian de Jongh stated that the Souliots were of Albanian descent and "refugees from Albania [...] a branch of the Tosks", that kept "their Albanian mother tongue and Christian faith.[79] A NY Times[importance?] article from 1880 calls the Souliotes a "branch of the Albanian people" and referred to Souliote women like Moscho Tzavella as exemplary of "the extraordinary courage of the Albanian women... in the history of the country.[82] ''
HAHAHAHA @ quoting Wikipedia without understanding any of the context-- hilarious.

After 1803-- the Souliotes did not exist. The confederacy was dismantled. Their leader, a Greek Priest named Samuel, became a Martyr. The remaining forces joined Hellenic Forces. After the Revolution, Epirus was still part of the Ottoman Empire. Everyone in Epirus spoke Arvanitika between 1832 - 1914. Arvanitika's mother tongue was proven to be Greek by Markos Botsaris' dictionary.

Before all these morons you are quoting, you need to go before the Dance of Zalongo to find the Truth.

The Souliotes had a strong local identity. Athanasios Psalidas (1767-1829), Greek scholar and secretary to Ali Pasha in early 19th century stated that the Souliotes were Greeks fighting the Albanians.

In a letter to Lord Byron dated October 1811 British traveler Hobhouse expressed views that he was uncertain about the language and dress of the Souliotes, but he suspected that they "do not wear the Albanian dress & do not speak Albanian". In 1813 Hobhouse stated the Souliotes "are all Greek Christians and speak Greek"

Some of them-- far less than 250 fighting men. The majority of them were killed in countless battles. 1/3 of them were killed at the Dance of Zalongo.

it has been proven many times that the albanians are an extraordinary people. many albanians (pashas, grandivizers, poets) have served the ottoman empire very well. the enderum system (harvard from back then) has brought out the best in each of them. with the right guidance/education I can see the albaniers taking a prominent role on the world stage again.

No they weren't. This was at a time when Albanians fought each other and weren't united. Blame also Ottoman Albanian ruling classes for their assimilation. You could say those were traitors too.

Even then, they were of Albanian origin clearly.

The Souliotes' descendants still live in Greece, and they would still beat the crap out of you if they faced you. They suffered A LOT from the Albanians, especially from Ali Pasha himself, but you don't even bother to comment upon this...
