Glad it went well.
My father's surgery aged him ten years. The surgery is rougher when you're in your 70s.

Mopi, what was recovery like? Did your heart feel very sore after surgery? How long did the surgery take? Glad to hear all is well with you.

Generally recovery went well, apart from one problem:
about 2 weeks after the surgery, I had my 2nd covid jab. A few hours later I went for a 20 min walk (they encourage you to walk 30mins a day as part of the recovery). When I got back home my heart rate was at 140 bpm and wouldn't come down. I went to the hospital and was told I had developed an arrythmia, atrial flutter.
I had to spend another 3 days in hospital being monitored
around 2 months later to correct the arrythmia I was cardioverted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardioversion
i've been fine ever since. about 2 weeks after the cardioversion, i started running again
i actually had no pain in the chest area at all after surgery. i couldnt lift anything heavier than a bottle of milk or drive for 6 weeks after the surgery to allow my breast bone to knit together and strengthen again....but i felt no pain
the surgery took around 7 hours
