    Don Juan (1978)

    Type: Short Film

Synopsis: Spoof of Don Juan Tenorio.

Mercero: I've always been a big fan of American musical comedy and I've always said that for me, the movie of my life is "Singing in the Rain." [...] suddenly one day TVE calls me inviting me to perform a musical for the Montreux Festival. Naturally I accepted it, I was the happiest man in the world during the time the shooting lasted. It was a parody of our Don Juan Tenorio, demystifying him and laughing even at his rhymes.

    La Gioconda está triste

The Gioconda is sad is a half-length film of the year 1977, directed by Antonio Mercero and starring Alfonso Godá, Luis García Ortega, Walter Vidarte and Lorenzo Ramírez. The script was made by Antonio Mercero himself along with José Luis Garci, based on a story written by the latter. The production was carried out by Radio Televisión Española.

It is about La Gioconda, the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci, who suddenly loses his smile. Detailed analyzes confirm that it is not a reproduction or replacement of the original work, but that it is the same painting that Leonardo made, which for unknown reasons has stopped smiling. This phenomenon begins to be repeated first in copies of the painting existing in other museums, then lithographs and finally in any reproduction of the painting.

Simultaneously there are alarming news about pollution, bacteriological warfare and social disorders. A researcher suspects the relationship of these facts with what happened to the painting, which after a new change shows a rictus of deep sadness. The impossibility of humanity to smile is proven. Funny movies and clowns don't produce any hilarity in their audience. A worldwide appeal is carried out through the United Nations Organization to try to get a smile from at least one person somewhere in the world, something that does not happen. Just then there is a cataclysm that destroys humanity. The last scene shows Leonardo's painting, in a devastated environment, with tears falling from his eyes.

    Tatuaje

Directed by Jaime Chávarri, and accompanied by Marisa Paredes, Pedro interpreted this short film in which the actors dramatize and ironize about the famous copla.

Copla: Andalusian copla or simply copla (also called Andalusian song or Spanish song) is a type of song with a poetic structure very similar to romance.

Tatuaje «Tattoo» is a Spanish song from 1941, composed by Xandro Valerio (1896 - 1966), Rafael de León (1908 - 1982) and Manuel Quiroga (1899 - 1988). It was popularized by Concha Piquer (1906 - 1990), becoming one of the most famous in its repertoire.

It has the peculiarity that it combines stanzas with a waltz rhythm with others that have a tango rhythm.

    https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatuaje_(canci%C3%B3n)

    Conchita Piquer - Tattoo (1st version) (1941)
Song of the port. First original recording on ODEÓN discs, 184.512, along with 'La Lirio 1ª version' in July 1941; reissued in 1943.

    Tatuaje (Tattoo)

He came in a boat, of foreign name.
I found it in the harbor one nightfall,
when the white lighthouse on the sailboats
    His silver kiss dropped.
It was beautiful and blond as beer,
the chest tattooed with a heart,
in his bitter voice, there was sadness
suffering and tired of the accordion.

And before two glasses of brandy
    on the stained counter,
he was telling me between his teeth
The old story of his love:
    Look at my tattooed arm
    with this woman's name,
it's the memory of the past
    That will never come back.

She loved me and has forgotten me,
    Instead, I didn't forget her
    and forever I'm marked
    With this woman's name.

He left one afternoon, heading ignored,
in the same boat that brought it to me
but between my lips, he left forgotten,
    A lover's kiss, which I asked for.
    I search for all ports,
I ask the sailors for him,
and nobody tells me, if he is alive or dead
and I continue in my doubt looking for him faithful.

    And I bleed slowly
    from counter to counter,
    before a glass of brandy
    Where my pain is drowning.
Look at your name tattooed on the caress of my skin,
I have marked it on a low heat and I will go with him forever.
Maybe you have already forgotten me, instead I did not forget you,
and until I have found you without resting I will look for you.
    Listen to me sailor,
and tell me what you know about him,

    He was gallant and arrogant,
and was more blond than honey
    Look at your foreigner's name
    written here, on my skin.
    If you find it sailor
Tell him that I die for him.

"Tráiler para amantes de lo prohibido" dirigido por Pedro Almodóvar (1985)

It is already known that Pedro Almodóvar began making short films in Super 8 in the 70s, and that such shorts do not even have sound, since Almodóvar was dedicated to double them personally at festivals and ‘happenings’ to which he attended. But in the mid-80s, when he had already shot four feature films, Almodóvar wanted to look back with a proudly new 'amateur' short, which many people have seen but very few have taken seriously: Trailer for lovers of the forbidden ( 1985), a short film made by the Manchego filmmaker for TVE's 'The Golden Age' program, which in turn served as a promotional element of the then brand new What have I done to deserve this! (1984). Trailer has always been regarded as a sympathetic hooligan, an amusement without transcendence, but seen today one could speak of an almost unique experience. It is true that the short film conveys the feeling that Almodóvar has been left with the panda to have a good time shooting a crazy script before going to Rock Ola. But it is precisely that almost domestic character that gives Trailer its uniqueness and unchanging charm.
