The demographic growth of Israel was enabled by the return of plenty Western jews, I don't think that jews from Israel became ME by settling in Israel. Just see a random jew in Israel, it's likely that he will look like an ashkenazim or a sephardim, not a middle-easterner like Lebanese or Palestinians.
