I'm not an expert but based on what I've seen on this forum (where everybody is some kind of autist) I'd conclude that autism is strongly correlated with OCD.

In my case, it was more the severe systematisation and affection for maths that faded in my early teens and took on a different form.

Spotting details, precision, having lesser empathy, and focusing on objects rather than people are the primary qualities of good engineers, and the enormous pattern seeking is also the main quality of mathematicians, physicists, analysts, and so on.
Lower sensitivity levels result in a good scientist who can make a decision or propose a solution without using emotions or personal bias.

These are particularly masculine cognitive skills that are associated with high levels of T in the perinatal period.

All of these characteristics can be shared by autistic persons, yet they are socially odd, with a robotic demeanour.

Many of them don't attend regular schools, and contrary to popular belief, the majority isn't even highly intelligent; it is difficult for them to form partnerships, some frequently have strange temper tantrums, they aren't sensual people at all, and they aren't so perfectly attuned into this world. Depression is common among them as well.

That's why such online tests are extremely misleading. I recall one study claiming that there was a higher % of autists at a STEM university in Eidhoven simply because people answered such basic questions.

Even these studies should be taken with a grain of salt because they are always changing.

I only had one colleague who had autism, and you could see right away that something was off with him, and he wasn't even high functioning.
