People with autism share some characteristics with people who are naturally inclined to STEM, such as seeing even the smallest details (with me it's extreme), seeing numbers, patterns, and strings of information everywhere (when I was a kid they assumed I had mild autism because of this), we are direct in speech, and are mostly introverts with a lot of solitary hobbies. But what distinguishes us from them is that we see the big picture; I, for example, have good social skills and decent EQ, and am fluent in sarcasm, love to troll, etc.
All of this suggests I'm not neuro divergent. Just a nerd.
