I think many Christian leaders propositaly don't make their message as clear because they want the people to be dependant on them, so tney don't stop going to the church.
Many Christians seem to only care about legalism, like the pharisees, and leave Jesus at a second plane.

For example, Protestant/evangelicals give too much importance to the law(old testments) and catholics emphasyze too much their baseless dogmas and traditions( such as devotion to Mary and saints).
Both seen to have forgot the message of Christ.

If we do follow your logic, then it's true about others religions too. I'm sure that most muslims don't know exactly what is the islamic faith; the same about budists in Southeast Asia.

Cannot understand how people suceed to make christhianity be seen as conservative/nationalist stuff when Jesus was all about humility, love, forgiveness and disattachment.

Jesus cannot be separated from his Church, Moral laws and spiritual practices; emptied of these things you only have a false Jesus.
