Ban Anglo-Saxon? The Push to remove Anglo-Saxons from academic discourse

There is a terrible new development in Medievalism. A push from activists to completely ban the use of the word Anglo-Saxon. It started with grievance monger Rambaran-Olm complaining that Anglo-Saxon is was racist and exclusionary and that AS studies are too white. Her blogs and complaints resulted in the International Society of Anglo-Saxonists (ISAS) agreeing to change its name.

Note also that Indian Studies departments (including at Harvard, despite the objections of the Chair, who reluctantly signed on for the name change) have had to change their name to 'South Asian Studies'.

There weren't any f---ing Black people in 6th century England, if there were any they were an anomaly, and if the unwashed masses confuse the Angles and Saxons with a term (WASP) coined in the 1960s, it is not the responsibility of academics (who should be the priestly caste of academic discourse) to cave in to their sensibilities. That sets a terrible example. It is the responsibility of the plebs to read a book.

It's not really surprising. I mean, the WJC(world jewish committee) also demanded Sweden to ban the thor hammer or Mjölnir symbols in Sweden because they supposedly represented White supremacy.

With what ? They'd have no way to get to Europe other than through the Atlantic and Med. They would lose their entire Sixth Fleet in the Med as they can be easily sunk by submarines.

They do have many military bases in Europe, and most of the right winged groups of Europe are pro-Israel/Zionist groups. Hell, even Salvini stated that he would be happy to send Italian troops to Israel to fight against Hezbullah and Syria. Not saying that Russia is better than the US in this regard either. In other words, it seems much of Europe is under the thumb of the US.

Out of top 10 Academic institutions in the world all of them have significant Anglo-Saxon heritage and also significant diversity in vast populated areas like India, China, SEAsia, Japan, North Africa, Arabia, Central Africa, South Africa etc...

That is not considered racist. Most anti-racism movements originated from these institutions, which have also honored the creativity of different races and developed the intellectual activities of these downtrodden races.
