They paid 2.6 billion on profits, 3.4 billion on tax expense over the last 3 years to the Federal government. On average they pay about 2.9% in taxes to individual states on gross sales in the US. In 2018 that would be about 4 Billion. The tax write offs, rebates or whatever you call them are carry forward losses from prior years.
When a corporation is constantly building new massive distribution and networking facilities that is a massive expense and you get to write some of that off, thus carry forward losses. The US federal tax code does reward corporations for significant investments and capital projects.

Amazon is a different animal.
Relative to Facebook or Apple that is a choice. Android phones are pretty dang cheap. I have never used facebook in any real manner. Use a bogus name just to access some other websites.
