I'd say culture-wise Poles are closer to Czechs and Slovaks, while they might be genetically more related to East Slavs but that's quite irrelevant.

Since the early 16th century Poland belongs culturally to Eastern Europe. This can be seen in fashion, warfare and mindset in general.

an average for the polish nation puts them genetically slightly closer to belorusians and ukrainians compared to czechs and slovaks, but they arent on average very distant from either czechs or slovaks, especially not slovaks. North eastern slovaks from spis area are very close to poles genetically and obviously regions like wielkopolska and southern polish regions are closer to czechs and slovaks than to eastern slavs. Most poles these days have ancestry from form eastern slavic regions, if that werent the case theyd probably overall be closer to czechs and slovaks.

Of course Polish is considered a West Slavic language with Slovak and Czech. We are also using Latin script which is another similarity with Slovaks and Czechs.

    I don't really know.
Which region are the G25 samples from? Are they representative of the entire Polish nation? Cause there are many Poles that are closer to Czechs and Slovaks and the Polish reference on GEDmatch is more eastern shifted than average.
