This is one of those me-like-myself threads in which everyone will praise their own ethnic group and no one quotes no one.

Personally I only quoted one particulary unit, I admire the Bersaglieri as I admire Arditi, les Chasseurs Alpins (Alpine troops)...

But I agree that people tend to praise their country.

VC being great soldiers or fighters is mostly a misconception... Any time they actually stood and fought they would be destroyed. Their success came from setting traps or ambushes to inflict any damage they could and then quickly escaping. That's all they really needed to do. The Germans were also being surpassed in skill and strategy before the end of WW2.
