"Nestinarstvo" is an ancient pagan ritual in which the performers dance barefoot on embers. It is widespread in southern Bulgaria and northern Greece. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to tradition, the Nestinari play in the evening on St. St. Constantine and Helena (the night of 3 vs. 4 June in the old style). The custom was widespread in the early 20th century in several Bulgarian and Greek villages in Eastern Thrace, some of which in 1913 fell into Bulgaria and the other remained in Turkey. The Greek population of the rest of Turkey's villages immigrated to Greece in the 1920s and carried with it the Nestar customs. https://nestinari.eu/%d0%b3%d0%b0%d0...0%d0%b8%d1%8f/
