You can run a shell command like this to generate CSV data which contains the URL of the original photo of each player:
curl -s https://www.uefa.com/european-qualifiers/teams/|pup '.team-wrap json{}'|jq -r '.[]|.href+"\t"+.title'|while IFS=$'\t' read l m;do curl -s https://www.uefa.com$l|pup '.squad--team-player[itemprop=athlete] .squad--player-img json{}'|jq -r '.[]|.title+";"+.href+";"+.children[0]."data-srcset"'|sed "s,^,$l;$m;,";done
I posted the output of the shell command here: https://pastebin.com/raw/JiY9steD.
There were a total of 1966 players. 355 players were missing a photo. I rejected a further 180 players because I estimated them to be foreign based on their photo, name, or in some cases a Google search. I rejected the photo of one player whose photo was actually the photo of another player. I excluded a further 11 players because their photo was not accepted by the Python package I used to create the morphs (https://pypi.org/project/facemorpher/).
I didn't spend much time trying to exclude players who were immigrants from another white country, so I might have failed to exclude as many as 20-50 players with a foreign background.
I excluded about half of the players of Kazakhstan's team, because they looked white and they had a Russian-sounding name. I only excluded players who looked black from the team of Israel.
Here are the IDs of all players who I excluded because I estimated them to be foreign: 68290 68721 69658 71507 72102 74702 98069 98893 102118 102130 103335 103546 103722 103813 105214 106223 107321 107398 107529 108212 108819 108915 1901158 1902165 1902218 1902972 1903428 1905353 1905535 1906064 1906131 1906540 1906969 1907188 1907207 1907943 1908019 1909697 1909713 250000920 250001903 250002548 250004067 250004721 250004772 250005255 250005335 250005577 250006018 250006202 250006700 250008395 250010259 250010802 250011089 250011785 250012024 250013649 250013677 250013944 250013997 250014003 250014109 250014115 250014399 250014528 250015808 250016664 250017824 250017929 250019963 250021048 250022315 250022869 250024306 250024646 250024795 250024860 250024983 250025891 250026483 250026751 250026983 250027008 250027015 250027830 250028211 250028701 250034756 250038932 250039925 250040343 250040432 250040956 250041770 250042316 250042610 250042702 250042717 250042778 250043137 250043859 250046574 250047077 250049706 250050478 250051107 250051346 250052541 250052757 250052963 250054829 250055660 250055663 250055967 250056129 250056140 250056566 250056954 250058215 250058217 250058218 250059363 250060867 250062148 250063396 250063803 250063984 250064006 250064235 250064274 250064362 250064583 250065420 250066551 250066695 250067358 250067629 250067630 250069809 250069810 250076183 250076357 250076574 250079677 250080524 250081555 250083532 250084903 250085186 250085369 250085953 250086090 250086789 250087443 250087919 250088246 250089619 250089626 250089868 250091952 250097090 250097175 250097271 250100056 250102216 250102672 250104090 250107266 250107439 250110384 250110397 250112690 250112778 250112803 250127450 250130545 250133856 250137328 250137554.
In the morphs below, differences in head shape and nose shape are caused by differences in the angle, distance, and focal length of the camera.
Below are also morphs for different regions. Some countries are not included in any region.
The morphs below consist of the photos of North Germanic and Finnic players who I estimated to match certain characteristics. I selected the photos in each morph among of a total of 152 photos of the players of Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. I attempted to exclude players who I estimated to have a foreign background.
In the morphs labeled "Wide mouth" and "Narrow mouth", I only included players whose mouth was closed.
In the case of some pairs of morphs, I inadvertently ended up choosing photos taken at a lower angle for one morph and photos taken at a higher angle for the other morph.
The gif file below compares the morphs of the North Germanic and Finnic players who I chose as the best-looking and the worst-looking. Compared to the "Worst-looking 32" morph, the "Best-looking 32" morph has:
- a larger head
- a wider and more rectangular face
- more prominent malars
- a wider bigonial
- higher canthal tilt
- less prominent eyelids
- a smaller visible area of the upper eyelids
- a shorter distance between the eyebrows and the eyes
- a lower and wider root of the nose
- a lower bridge of the nose
- a wider nose
- a wider mouth
- less yellowish skin
- a higher position of the ears
Out of all Nordic players, I think the Icelandic player below (Viðar Örn Kjartansson) is maybe the most chad. He looks like a gorilla-Superman hybrid.
The overall quality of these photos is not very good, and the photos of different teams are taken under widely varying conditions. The following are better sources for headshot photos of football and hockey players:
