Both. One of the things that makes Brazil distinct from most Latin American countries is our language, we're a Lusophone country in a portion of the continent where most of the nations are Hispanophones, for example.

Nice thread.
As a Lebanese Christian, Arabic language is just a tool of communication. (we spoke Syriac and Aramaic before Arabisation)
But for the average Lebanese Muslim, the Arabic language is an expression of his identity and culture. (Since it is the language of the Quran)
