Super you can name 20 or 30 famous geniuses for 400 or 500 million South Europeans who have lived in the last 2000 years --- and hey most of your geniuses are drawers, architects, artists or painters but sorry a nice drawing doesnt create cars, computers, planes, trains or other important technology! All what is really important for daily life was created by Northern people nearly alone. Southern people are famous for art but you cant advance in technology and society with some nice drawings and a smiling Madonna.

Portugal and Spain have some of the most advanced medicine research centres of the world, afaik, americans have recruited many of our best "brains" and many people come from all Europe to have coronary and neurological treatments here. Am I willing to dig trough pages of off topic responses for the handful of on topic responses. Not tonight. However it is remarkable that Falkata thinks that the USSR was a positive phenomena economics wise, consider I remember him being more of the free market type.
