Potential intellectual capacity is directly correlated with surface area of the the grey matter of the brain (outer layer). This surface area is increased or decreased by way of frequency and depth of sulci and fissures on the surface of the brain. (And these vary within closely genetically related populaions also.) Size of the brain could be considered to be irrelevant. (Unless one is born with a brain the size of a pea. ) Incidentally, women generally have smaller brains than men, but more frequently occuring and deeper sulci and fissures, usually leaving the former with comparatively (slightly) greater grey matter surface area measurements.

Think too that Neanderthals were known to have MUCH larger brains than modern humans. It has been theorised that their suci and fissures were shallow and infrequent in comparison to homo sapiens sapiens though.

Can you explain then why Italians had a better standard of living during all the history than scandinavians? Italy had a siberian weather before the XX century or I´m missing something?
