    It is very small, I-M253 is at 5% or so nationally, though in some regions it may exceed 10%

    The Varangians were mostly an elite and quickly assimilated after the baptism of Kievan Rus.

    They didn't make much impact autosomally, maybe couple percent in Novgorod area, and maybe couple percent in whole country at haplogroups.
