I don't want US troops with boots on the ground in Mexico, but I'd be fine with drone strikes.

If the Mexican government really wanted to get rid of the cartels, and wanted the help of the US, it would be intel, drone strikes, then small ground assault teams from Helicopters, and other air support. However most of the folks high in government take cartel bribes, and all the way down to local policing. Sometimes Cartels bribe police/military to help them take out another cartel. At the El Chappo trial in the US one former Cartel member testified that El Chappo's team paid the former President 100 Million in bribes. IDK if it is true or not.

Back in the late 1990s when I was in the Army National Guard, we were always training for anti-cartel operations in Latin America. Then 9/11 happened, then Iraq, then ISIS, so...

I'm all for it, if we can get our focus back.

Yes, I think they should intervene in these countries. They are actually justified in doing so considering they send refugees to the US.
