I would argue that, to some pretty degree, there is no need for translation.

A recording of you reading the poem would suffice.

I do not need to know their language, to identify the nature (friendly, humorous, adversarial?) of the conversation my neighbors are having (I can rely purely on hearing the sounds that they are making).

New model for S.Italian regions, I used Imperial roman samples, Rome Ardea and Rome Latini. I added other elements to fit with the populations like Guanche, DEU_MA and ARM_MBA.



I obtain a very good fit with Campania ! (0.5487%)



Other regions :

Sicily East



Sicily West



Calabria



Calabria can be modelized as 80% Imperial Roman, followed by Campania. This can confirm what I've said for Campania having retained Imperial era profile.

Naples is said to have been even more cosmopolitan than Rome. Something has to explain how the fuck Campanians manage to plot south of Western Sicilians...

What language is that? Doesn't sound like Italian to me, nor like Spanish. Some kind of Balkanite speech, similar to Romanian. And the guy looks non-European basically.
