i quite did. and to a slavic speaker or at least moldavian speaker, romanian outside moldova sounds feminine and very latin-like, and close to italian
and i was amazed by the bad grammar and funny pronouncing of the southern romanians, like "ei mi-a zis să vin", "dă-mi sticla du pă masă", "ce face fetele", or like "papuci" for "şlapii de plajă" etc
a lot of differences. not to mention that 25 to 35% of the moldavian dialect is composed of slavic words
it's funny the imperialism of you southerners. if one is for the regional identity and heritage, you label him as anti-romanian. you don't have to dislike southerners to care for your region
i don't want moldova out of romania because of the south, but because it would be the natural thing. the same way as i wouldn't want moldova to be part of great britain or france or germany or whatever
and even if moldova would split from romania, i'm sure it would be romania's best neighbour and the population and cultural flow would continue in between
