Turanist Bosniaks and Bosniakophile Turks often propagate this, based on the old Heretic sectarian connection between Bulgaria and Bosnia.

During this reign, a Bulgarian Christian sect known as Bogomilism (from Bulgarian language: 'Bog', i.e. God, and 'Mil', i.e. friend) began to attract followers in Bosnia, as Bosnian principalities adopted Bogomilism in order to offset the strong influences of its Catholic and Orthodox neighbours. Accordingly, until Khan Omurtag (9th century CE), who was a devout Tengrianist building temples in Pliska and not allowing Slavic-Christian influxes, Bulgaria was great. However, after the Great Khan passed away, the "lower majority" thus, Byzantinizing and Orthodoxifying Slavs succeeded in having Christianity declared as an official religion and Bulgar language replaced by the Slavic one.

As a reaction, a group of the Bulgars hid their Shamanic tengrist faith and laid low, finally expressing themselves through a Heresy inside the Christian dogma.
Then moving to Bosnia.

The idea of descending from Khan Kurum is obviously more attractive than being a Slav from Poland who were moved south by the Avars before ending mixing there with Illyrian leftovers to create what shall become "Balkans".

Never heard about it. Bogomislism came from Bulgaria though. Bosniak nationalists tend to identiy either with Illyrians or Goths, or both. That's it.
