Honestly, I'm a little bit jealous of people who were able to stop smoking. I've been smoking for 5 years and I can feel all that impact on my health, but I can't stop doing it. My life has a lot of stresses, and cigarettes help. How someone of you managed to stop it, maybe, there are some tips?

Switch to snus, much better for your health.

Try the step by step thing, by lower the amount of cigarettes, from time to time. If you a heavy smoker and feel the urge just skip a hour, then two and like that. I know it's hard, I didn't have the motivation to do that until really decided to stop it. Some people change to chewing gums instead, or use nicotine patches. The main motivation was a rock bottom for me, I felt very bad about things, my overall health was a mess. So eventually it had to happen, but I take is as a motivational project instead of just putting down cigarettes. Sorry for the longer monologue, one more thing, what was really helping me somewhat is vaping, for a month or two.

Were you really a heavy smoker? Because for me and for many other heavy smokers the cold turkey hits different, after you decide to toss your last smoke there's a brief period of time where your willpower peaks and you don't feel the urge to light up another one, for me this lasted at least a couple weeks, after that the cravings were so strong that I wished I could've just stayed in bed all day binge-eating under my covers instead of going out and interacting with people, ironically I lost a lot of weight while I was going through this phase

I'm not a smoker, so I cannot relate to your situation... I just wanted to offer congratulations for making a positive change in your life and I think it's awesome that you're sharing your experience with others.

Also, I bought some snus from tobacco stores in Prague. A friend also bought some from New York.

Technically the snus you bought in Prague was smuggled since it is illegal to import, sell or hand over in the European Union (with the exception of Sweden). Unless you are mistaking it with nasal snuff, commonly known as snuff. I believe it is still legal and available in former communist states since I have tried it in Poland and I had a Belorussian friend who was a heavy consumer of snuff. Not a really pleasant experience to be honest

The U.S. is not that strict when it comes to tobacco related products in comparison with Europe, I believe you can find everything in there. They are more into dipping tobacco rather than Scandinavian snus variety which is usually prepackaged into little pouches. I have only tried Swedish snus once, when I had to do a stop over at the Stockholm airport and had the chance to grab a can. Taste wise is not bad, kinda salty.
