    Mix of western and eastern cultures give Transylvania this haunting vibe, and the ethnicities of very different background, plus the local nature which looks very wilde till today.

    For example, only in Transylvania you can see old catholic churches with Gothic architecture covered with orthodox paintings both inside and outside.

    The Pannonian steppe (Puszta in your language) was the goal target of all kinds of Turkic nomads, because they need it to survive for their horses to eat. Pontic steppe is not as lush and grassy so Pannonian steppe was top-tier to the Huns. A lot of it is inside Romania, but I was a little wrong most of it is in eastern Hungary.

    Very true about lifestyle then, and it was good for nomadic defense. However now being so flat with mechanized warfare and settled crop growing it is difficult to defend against attacks.
