In FST sharing Slovenians are closest to Croats, equally close to Bosnians and Slovaks, and closer to Ukrainians than to Czechs.
Croats are closer to Czechs than Slovenes are, and not by a small margin.

They are closer to Bosnian muslims than to Czechs. Equally close to Bosnians and Slovaks.
But it is interesting how close they are to Ukrainians.

As I said, southern Slavs are most genetically heterogenous Slavic branch despite small territory they occupy.

Breakdown of Slavic admixture, using only 3 Slavic neighbours in the model
(Slovaks are excluded because they are not direct neighbours of Germany):

Average results for 87 samples (of which some have no eastern admixture):

    ^^^
As expected, Poles (longest border) and Sorbs (absorbed to the largest degree) make the largest chunks of Slavic admixture:

    Model used for that:

    =====

Based on those two models, it seems that the breakdown of Slavic admixture in Germans is as follows:

    48-45% is Polish-like
    31-32% is Sorb-like
    21-23% is Czech-like

Question is, if Polabian Slavs such as Obodrites and Veleti, were more like Poles, Sorbs, or like Czechs.

Some linguists even say that West Balts are not more closely related to East Balts than they are to Slavs.

They say that West Balts formed a 3rd independent branch of Balto-Slavic, equally closely related to both Slavic and East Baltic.

Didn't Balts get N1C through bottlenecking? It's not like they are 40% Uralic, they don't have enough East Eurasian admixture for that AFAIK.

If bottlenecking (and associated with it genetic drift) affected East Balts but not West Balts, it could make them also different autosomally as well.

That model won't work for Croats. You need to add southern populations to your model. Maybe Bronze Age & Iron Age Croatia and Bulgaria.

French Alsace and Swiss German are absorbing your Med DNA in this model, because they have a good chunk of it (in addition to NW Euro).

A good friend of mine had a father from Konigsberg in Prussia and a mother from just north of Oslo.

    Per ancestry.com she was:

    45% Norway

    15% Baltic

    18% Germanic Europe

    22% Sweden
