Success of a relationship comes mostly from woman's emotional maturity. I'd say 80% is woman's contribution. Men are simple creatures with simple tastes, easy to satisfy, easy to maintain emotional stability, easy to develop devotion.
Woman on the other hand at times have tendencies for emotional instability that could lead to ruining decisions. If she can't keep it all together she shouldn't be having any family at all.
Another argument comes from overwhelming statistics that shows kids in single parent households do far better with fathers than with mothers. Kids growing up with single moms are plagued by alcohol and drug addictions, teenage pregnancies, inability to form long term bonds, crime and poverty. That's because moms are essential only up to 8-10 years of kid's age. After that fathers are instrumental in developing proper socialization. However at early age both parents are important for proper development of sexual self-identification. The whole issue is far too complex to have simple solution.
The best solution: Don't start a family until you're emotionally and physically mature enough to cope with all the pressures. And once you said "Yes", stick to your promise, devote your entire self to it.
