It is middle aged not old. There are 5 or 6 stages of life : infant, toddler, prebuscent kid, young, middle aged, old. You seem to think there are just two : young and old. I am 41 which is technically middle aged, not old, but I look 38 (not everyone looks their exact real age). Also, older men tend to be more sophisticated and richer (more established) than young men. A lot of young women go for older guys.

In my Psychology class Middle Aged is defined as age 45-65 years of age. Early 40's is the cusp of that time. We have definitely changed .

Older men seem to lose their modesty. I joined a swimming club recently and when I go I am actually one of the younger ones by far. So some of the men like to make small talk with me some times. I don't mind this, but why do they have to do it with everything just hanging out? No clothes on. "How was your swim today ?" Oh it was fine, but, you know, it's okay to put your clothes on. That's why I'm getting ready to change in the stall . That's what I think to myself. At least the younger men have more modesty. When I'm in the locker room, I just want to get in and out with no hassle. I don't like to hang out naked with the boys.

Older men the senior citizen types do this too much. No idea why. More common at a YMCA, swim club thing than an LA Fitness franchise.
