Today maybe opposition to Lukashenko are called "nationalists" but they are just pro-democratic / pro-EU people.

Their identity is not strong and has never been.

They were the least problematic minority in pre-war Poland, and today they are willingly getting Russified and forgetting their language.

    They never opposed Polonization/Russification.

In West Ukraine, there was strong nationalism and anti-Polish attitude among some Ukrainians. That was never the case in West Belarus.

Just to add, I can attest to that Закарпатська область is probably the least nationalistic of West Ukraine. Many of us do not see ourselves as Ukrainian to be frank.

There are some Belarusian nationalists who prefer to think of themselves as Slavic Lithuanians (Litvins), but I doubt they're a notable phenomenon.

Their national identity was strong enough for them to avoid becoming part of Russia.

Zaporizhzhya Cossacks are Ukrainians mixed with southern Russians. The main feature of the Ukrainian Cossacks is Orthodoxy as opposed to Polish Catholicism.
