Is Latin America kinda an Alternate Universe of the USA if it were colonized by Iberians ?

I always hear how Brazil is what United States would be like if Anti-Miscigination laws didn’t exist or how Brazil is what the United States will be like in the future. But I was on reddit and someone made a comment that made me think that if the Indigenous People of United States had survived colonization with larger numbers would it be similar to Mexico ? Where even though it’s pretty westernized the Native groups are part of the national identity and not forgotten like in the USA(it kinda reminded me of this Clip). Argentina would resemble the more European areas of the country but instead of being populated by defendants of Northern Europeans it would be Southern Europeans like Italians and Spaniards.

Brazil/Argentina kinda seem like an alternate universe where modern day USA is more closest to similarly since with Argentina the Native American component is third behind the Italian and Spanish Heritage(Whereas in the States it’s mainly the British one that’s everywhere) and with Brazil the two biggest heritage compontents are the Portuguese and African one where as the Native component is also third and somewhat farther back and forgotten kinda like In the USA.

With Mexico, it seems kinda similar to Native American reservations in how they play like small nations where the indigenous heritage is a major part of the national identity regardless of blood quantum but they’re so small and nowhere big enough like the British and African heritage in the USA, but if in the USA the Native population had survived, and the population was mostly Amerindian/Mestizo with a significant Euro population and a small amount of African descendants who were brought as labor but failed and therefore never became something like Brazil(a huge plantation colony) and the main heritage components are the major tribe that was in the area(Aztecs, Incas, Mayans and Chibchas etc) and the European one.

I feel like the closest thing that there is something similar to this is with the Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay border in that Brazil is mainly a country with African and Portuguese heritage, Argentina and Uruguay mainly of Spanish and Italian heritage but Paraguay is mainly of Spanish and Guarani Heritage, Guarani is even majorly spoken in Paraguay the the indigenous people of the major cities of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay were also related to the Guarani and a lot of there cultural traits are shared between countries especially in that region but the difference is that while Brazil is mainly a Mulatto country or at least close to something like it and Argentina and Uruguay are mainly white countries, Paraguay is a Mestizo nation and yet it is still culturally connected to these countries which have different major racial components.

The southern cone (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and southern/south east Brazil) would be the alternate universe of USA if it were thoroughly colonized by Iberians, and it was occupied by one or more Spanish speaking countries until today.

PS: Spaniards explored and colonized great parts of North America, but we are talking about an hypothetical scenario in which Spaniards had consolidated their presence in all today's US territories, including the eastern coasts and everything, and North America (or at least what today is US), would have reminded Spanish until the independence from Spain.

That’s kinda what I was getting at, except Southeastern US has a similar African heritage to Northeastern Brazil especially places like Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana which is why I included the entirety of Brazil not just the south. And Chile is a Mestizo country as multiple studies have shown which would put it closer to a Native American nation rather then Argentina and Uruguay which are profoundly European with Italian and Spanish heritage.

The US has immigrant from all over the world and they are often very ambitious people who followed the American Dream. South America was colonized by people who just wanted normal lives. If you look at Argentina and Uruguay, they have very weird unambitious governments bordering on communism. There is no free market there.

That’s why I said alternate universe not that they were copies of eachother. I mean the USA and Latin America have similar beginnings with colonization, native Americans and imported enslaved Africans

This topic brings to mind the "Ghost Dance of 1890" which eventually caused the 7th Cavalry to freak out and open fire upon dancing Plains Indians. A Northern Paiute ny the name of Wavoka originated its doctrine that preached for the resurrection of Native American Spirits whom had perished, during the Indian Wars. No. USA is an alternate version of Cuba. The difference is that Cuba use socialism so many white cubans let out of Cuba while mulattos/blacks took place and they abolished anti-miscegination laws earlier. Also, USA own a lot of slaves like Cuba.

LOL, not true. At least 30% of Chileans are whites/near-whites (85% Euro or more), and a great portion of the rest of their population have more Spanish than Amerindian blood. Chile is not like Argentina and Uruguay, but is far more European than Peru and Bolivia. Aside that their culture and architecture are very European influenced. Chile is almost on par with Argentina and Uruguay in Europeaness when it comes to their cultural mindset. So, no. Chile is closer to Argentina and Uruguay in all senses than to Peru and Bolivia.

Regarding the thread question, in the alternate universe that North America would have remained all Spanish, the eastern parts of current US territories would be similar to Argentina and Uruguay, the South west would be part of Northern Mexico, and the Northwestern parts would be something very similar to Chile. The south eastern parts (mostly to the Gulf of Mexico and the southeastern Atlantic coasts) would be something similar to Cuba before Castro and Puerto Rico.
