Hey guys, I just read that the German car manufacturer Audi is cutting 9500 jobs in Germany. I want to explore how they do that and what that means for the towns and the nation.

Audis Probleme
Zu teuer, zu schwach, zu lahm

Mit technischer Avantgarde hatte sich Audi zum Primus im VW-Konzern emporgearbeitet. Jetzt ist der Autobauer ein Problemfall und streicht bis 2025 fast 10.000 Stellen. Der Weg zurück an die Spitze wird schwer.

Bei Audi nennen sie es "Zukunftspakt". Einen "Transformationsplan, der die Zukunftsfähigkeit des Unternehmens weiter absichert". Nüchterner betrachtet geht es um nicht weniger als eine Rosskur, die Audi vor dem Absturz bewahren soll.

Denn die einst aufstrebende VW-Tochter ist nur noch ein Schatten ihrer selbst. Viel zu lange hatten die Konzernoberen in Wolfsburg die Ingolstädter gewähren lassen. Das Ergebnis lässt sich an den Zahlen ablesen: Nach deutlichen Rückgängen in den vergangenen zwei Jahren liegen die Verkäufe auch im laufenden Geschäftsjahr schon wieder unter Plan. Bis Oktober lag das Minus bei 3,6 Prozent. Das war Grund genug für Vorstandschef Bram Shot, Anfang November eine Absatzwarnung herauszugeben.

Ein im März verabschiedeter Sparplan sieht Ausgabenkürzungen vor, der am Dienstag vereinbarte Personalabbau soll seinen Teil dazu beitragen. 9500 Stellen werden wegfallen - jeder sechste Audi-Arbeitsplatz in Deutschland.

Die bisherigen Umsatzgaranten A3, A4 und A6 sind es schon lange nicht mehr. So verließen in Ingolstadt statt der möglichen 600.000 gerade einmal rund 420.000 Autos die Werkshallen. In Neckarsulm liefen gut 185.000 Autos vom Band - dabei beträgt die maximale Kapazität des Werks 300.000.

This is strange, since we're seeing a lot more Audi cars and SUVs being sold here in the US than ever before. I see more German cars on the road than American made cars. Trucks on the other hand....

I developed the biggest hate first and foremost to my own population, not too refugees or immigrants.

I cant believe how 99% of the Germans do not understand how a economy works and how they cannot realize Germany's decline on EVERY field.

While the US private companies getting better and better on aerospace technology and Japan leading on Asteroid landings, Eurocucks think we play any role in the future while trust on bigger goverments and less innovations.
