Darrel Bricker and John Ibbitson co-authors of, "Empty Planet: The Shock of Global Population Decline," say these predictions have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, the global population is on the decline. They join The Agenda to discuss a shrinking planet and the myriad challenges it poses.

It's good to know that the population is shrinking (it's just a natural correction after the mindboggling growth of the 19th and 20th centuries) so we're not going to need any "open borders". The population will "fall back" to more natural and sustainable levels.

since Romania got to 16 million in-country inhabitants (~5 million Romanians live abroad and most will stay there) the media advertises us having "space and land" for "people" and that "we lack workforce" and that "it's better to bring immigrants that stay than work migrants that go away with the money" - trying to make the population favour Arab/African immigration against Chinese/Filipino/Vietnamese seasonal workers. construction companies work with Southeast Asians because they do work. I fear the EU and our Left politicians (they are very close to Macron) are preparing us to bring in a huge wave of Arabs and Africans (news has slipped to the media in April for the coming of half a million Pakistanis over the next 6 months and the people went outraged on social media so the Social-Democrats only signed for some 20-50k Pakistanis I think, maybe also because there were elections in the autumn this year).
