Despite what Christiano says otherwise, Spaniards are pretty tolerant to gays and lesbians. It's not surprising that Romania and Bulgaria are not too keen with them due to religious conservatism.

There is no "religious conservatism" in Bulgaria. The reason behind Bulgarian intolerance of LGBT people is the strange stance that if you don't hate gays, you must be a gay. More and more young people in Sofia and other cities are tolerant though.

But what is the motivation behind Bulgarians to hate gays? Surely there must be a reason for it.
