that's exactly what i was thinking about..that her father looks MENA. my first thought was that her mother probably worked in Dubai. Dubai is full of Filipinos and i know many filipina women merry arabs there.

I also know many levantine men living in the Philippines as well, so it wouldn't surprise me if the guy is a Levantine Arab man. Yes, we have over 600,000 Filipinos living in the UAE.

Correct. There are a couple of thousand left. I notice that Filipino media uses a lot of those either mixed (that includes "modern mixes" such as Anne Curtis) or colonial people in films or even for reading the news. Most actors and actresses are mixed. I like the Philippines but their society seems to suffer a great deal from the so-called "blue seal syndrome" after the blue seal found on imported products: they seem to believe that whatever comes from abroad is better.

Those colonial families arent even popular in the media because they look completely white. You never see them on TV because Filipinos want to see people who at least partially look like them. I can only think of 2 white Spanish-Filipinos still on TV, and they're both old

But now look at the celebs today and how Filipino they look

That change is very recent but you'd see that a substantial amount of Filipino actors and models are still mixed. Anne Curtis comes to mind. Alyssa Alano or Enrique Gil. And had you paid close attention to how the actors dress, wear their make-up and have their hairstyle - you would see a distinct Western influence not seen in other Asian countries. They try to mimic the West. That's what I mean with their blue seal mentality.
