Why do some people hate Amerindians? What's wrong with being Native Americans?

But it has been 200 years since they defeated the Spaniards and gained Independence. Why continue having this type of cast like mentality? Most White Nationalist in Europe would not accept them regardless of their European admixed. Pretty sad if you ask me.

Pretty stupid considering that it those 'Canadians' that real foreign element and not first nations folk. I also heard in that in Western Canada, cop use to drop Native teens in the middle of nowhere during the winter nights in the 2000s. The cops called starlight tours. Pretty sick if you think about.

There was not any "spanish" defeat, the independance wars in America were civil wars between the spanish elite, some wanted to remain in the Empire and other wanted to become independant.

The fight between the mixed natives and the evil spaniards is a myth, all the independentist leaders were 100% spanish (the chilean O´Higgins was 50% irish and 50% spanish).

In fact the amerindians preferred the spanish dominion that granted them freedom and their own semi-independent republics, the first thing that the independentist leaders did when they won is to privatise and sell the public indian lands, breaking the ancestral indian communities, and imposing them the spanish lenguage way the educational system. Even in some cases (Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, north Mexico) there was genocides against indians to make place for new european inmigrants in the XIX century.

Because in Latin America Natives are associated with poverty, ignorance and abuse. Go back to the times Iberians came and lied to Natives, abused them in every way and stripped them of their lands, language and religion.

Even to this days Latin America socio economical classes are divided according to race; the white latins tend to have more money, power and respect than the mestizos or natives. In my country to be mixed with black or native almost always means that person lives in poverty. People don’t want to be associated with that.

Population seem to ignore the way natives lived was more healthy and smart than how we live today, ruining our lands, rainforests and seas. Had Europeans never arrived I have no doubt our continent would be in its prime, and not ruined as it is today. But that doesn’t matter just what I previously mentioned do, and sadly LA europeans are looked up to while mestizos or natives looked down. It’s unfair and pathetic but that’s how things work over here.

200 years is nothing in a society. The euro colonials that took lands and positioned themselves in power remain to this days, as its passed through generations. That division had consequences that will last many more generations. Gaining independence changes nothing if the power remains in the same place.

Its that unfairness that created populist movements which are also negative, but what else to do while being in their shoes? Its a tragedy. I don’t see how Latin America will be afloat or fix their social problems one day, it seems impossible as the society is so divided.
