Tips to appear friendly/approachable

I’ve noticed this in the store, and other instances. People are generally more friendly to others than me. As soon as I approach their expression goes flat and is almost mechanical. I was at the store recently with my bro and the girl at the register was bright and friendly, though when it was my turn their smile disappeared and their manner changed completely. Also another instance was with this guy at a register at a different store that turned diagonally when waiting for the transaction to process (was waiting a solid minute, or it felt like it) and completely ignored me when I tried to make general conversation.

Don’t get it, I’m an easy going guy and got decent social skills from working sales and customer service the past few years. I ain't a weirdo or creep or anything. What should I change? Any tips?

The bald head makes you more serious at first look probably. Smile more brah ( I know I hate when they say it)

It’s all about body language and facial expression. I changed those two things up and people respond completely differently. Just be more relaxed and “giggly” it doesn’t work on everyone because assholes still exist. But most people will give you back the energy your giving them.

Yeah maybe haha shaved heads are more taboo in Aus I guess, undercuts and man buns are more popular here :/

Had a chat to my bro and he said something similar, that people reciprocate the vibes you put out. Guess its easier for some than others, some wear a frown better than a smile.
