My case Mixes your mind a little but nothing to do. I have known that at least half of me is Turkish but seems like it is not in that way according to DNA results.

My dad hated Muslims and would say that he not Arab but Phoenician. As I grow older, I thought that was silly as he spoke Arabic, not Phoenician, and was into the same culture and others in the Middle East.

I call myself an Arab, even though I do not cluster genetically with Arabians. The identity is political-cultural rather than genetics.

I do let people know that we descend from the Phoenicians, and educate them the contributions to the world.

How can levantines identify with Phoenicians ? They may confuse Phoenicians and canaanites. Even in the past, I mean more than 2500 years ago they weren't predominant in the Levant because they were a minority of seaferers their language was probably derived from proto sinaic some authors even trace their origins to south Arabia
To my opinion they were related to ancient egyptians like all proto semites and Jews were more influenced by them
