Morlachs were invented in the heads of Venetian clerks. They called Morlachs all people from hinterland of east Adriatic coast (especially Dalmatian coast). People who were marked as Morlachs by Venetians have the highest % of I2-PH908 on the world.

In Romania they're called "bocitoare".
But I don't think the practice exists anymore. It was pretty common 100 years ago.

Maybe only south east Serbs. One of my friends is from South east Serbia(Babusnica) and he gets butthurt whenever someone mentions Bulgarians, especially when we call him Bulgarian because of his native dialect.
Tho i think his maternal line is definitely Bulgarian by origin considering how their previous surname ended with "ov" and his great great grandfather was called Krum, which i think is unique Bulgarian name.

With us what you call Slava is celebrated, but very different. With each individual person, if his name is a certain saint, he celebrates his Name Day when it is the church holiday of the saint in question. Each settlement / town or village / has had its own patron saint, and on this day all of that settlement is celebrated. These are big holidays. You celebrate Slava within a family or kinship. I have a question, what about a girl who celebrates Slava today on St. George's Day and tomorrow marries and goes to another family and becomes part of it, and there they celebrate Slava on St. John's Day?

Females who are married into a new family not only get the new families surname, but also the patron saint/Slava.
