Default Has capitalism proven to be the superior system?

    Hey everyone,

I was talking with a Cuban driver and he was telling me about his life experinces. He said to Cuba, Venezuela and any countries who embrace socialism or socialist values go down the drain. He also told me that he enjoyed living in the USA much more than living in Spain since Spain had introduced some socialist policies and this made it slower less exciting things going on(Again, this is his own personal opinion, I've never been to Spain, so I don't know).

Recipe for a nation's economic success:
Capitalism, Individualism, Small nuclear families, Start families late or even no families at all(Both Whites and Asians do this since they are K-Selected), Strong rule of law, tough police force, put more value on peope working over getting education(to start as small bussiness is better to not bother with graduate school), small and limited goverment, low taxes since your country is individualistic you are focused on your own well-being.

    What do you guys think?

It’s not that simple. There are countries where capitalism didn’t work, like in India. They have the whole package of what it means to be capitalist - vast majority of land owners and companies are private, wage workers, etc. Yeah, their tax system follows the socialist paradigm on paper, but even for high income Indians, the tax rate is on-par with other capitalist countries, so it doesn’t matter anyway. Point is, the country is garbage overall, but a high level Indian businessman can afford way more than his western equivalent in his country. Capitalism only works when there’s enough of a middle-class, otherwise it backfires and without a proper supervision, large companies gorge everything.

Capitalism can result in massive growth, but the gains almost always go very disproportionately into the hands of corporatists/elitists, resulting in extreme income and wealth inequality and often the domination of society by the plutocrats and the corporatists.

Capitalism in some form or another is necessary for a functional modern economy, but it obviously needs to be regulated strongly or dominated by and for the state. You can have the social democratic model of some Euro countries, welfare-statism mixed with capitalism, or the State Capitalist model that the Chinese currently have, and to some extent the old fascist regime of Mussolini, where, in the case of the Chinese, the government owns the banks and other major industries but allows for a market economy and some other aspects of capitalism in a regulated and state-dominated framework. But a totally statist socialist society or an unregulated, free market, for-profit, private, capitalist system have both proven to be disastrous and cannot work in any reasonable society.

This is exactly what works best in real life and what most creative and/or hardworking people would want. Sadly some countries will be stuck with various forms of overemphasized focus on socialism and related regimes, paving the path for corruption.

Yea, Capitalism is definitely the best economic system...at creating vast inequality.

Mixed economies historically and currently are the most successful in terms of prosperity and quality of life for citizens.
