Here in Western Europe, you would have seen that here was some division regarding Turkey's accession to the EEC later EU. During the 1990s it was more like 50/50 in this country alone. They were considered not ready but membership inevitable - it was considered in the same package of NATO: the Atlanticist one. Then came Erdogan, who destroyed your democracy, kicked left, right and centre and turned the minorities here in Europe into the Enemy Within. That's his achievement. Now, if you were to ask Europeans today on whether they want anything to do with Turkey - you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone wanting them within a 1000 mile radius of Europe. We don't want you in NATO (those Russian missiles may have something to do with that, no ? Even the Americans have had enough of you now), we don't want you in the EU, we don't want you in any Europe-associated organisation - in any way, shape or form. Not even EBU and Eurovision.We don't want anything to do with Erdogan's Turkey.

Now the Kemalist Turkey until the 1990s was, in some cases, a headache file, but this Turkey, this Erdogan Turkey ? No thanks. We don't want your crazy ideas and your insane dictatorship here in Europe.

Refugees in Turkey want to move in Europe, all of them. None of them are content with Turkey. Turkey doesn't have a friendly environment your friends think of.

Likely not. It's something the government cannot budge under. Particularly not considering the latest polls: they would lose half of their seats today. Make it three quarters if any "refugees" were brought in.

what about the large number of the gold laden and heavily clothed/bearded Gulf and Egyptians (Pro-Mursi/anti-Sisi?) expatriate that I saw in Istanbul neighbourhoods? They consider nationalism to be worldly and unislamic and consider Turkey belong them as it belong to ethnic turks like you. I was shocked to see an entire neighbourhood of them in a area near Taksim square (def not poor people lol). Those rich but religious Arab also exist in London, and you see a large swam of niqabis after 8.00 in town esp during Ramadan.
