Regarding the original or initial spread of what came to be known as Slavic language, what are the established supports and obstacles for:

    A) The initial/original spreading being in the general direction of North and of East?

    B) The initial/original spreading being in the general direction of South and of West?

    Cheers,

    I love this particular topic.

Then how do explain striking similarities of Sanskrit ( R1a-Z93) with Slavic languages?

I don't know so I am just asking for some insight:

How much more striking is the similarity between Sanskrit and Slavic compared with the similarity between Sanskrit and Romance?

Just pick counting system of Sanskrit and it sounds closer to Slavic than romance languages. When I think about old Russian the resemblance is even bigger.

Also verb structure of Sanskrit is very similar to Slavic languages.

Examples of Sanskrit verbs: pacati ( to bake), bavati ( to be), garati ( to burn), lasati ( to lick), labati ( to love), kasate ( to cough), marati ( to die), svetate ( to dawn), padyate ( to fall) etc.
