I’ve never had Romanian cuisine, unfortunately we don’t have a big Romanian population in Houston.

It's great comfort food. I actually feel that Romanian food, esp Transylvanian, food is not the best fit for warm climates. It's hardy, meat heavy, lots of soups and stews, cold weather food. Good in the winter but I'm not sure people want to eat soup and cabbage rolls on a hot summer day in Houston or LA. It's worth trying if you ever have the chance but the restaurants are hard to find outside the upper midwest, places like Chicago and Detroit.
