The only one that fought against muslim in Al-Andalus were the Mozarabs ( Christians living in Al-Andalus paying a tax like jews ), they were the most part of the population in that times, around 80%, however when entered the fanatics like Almoravids & Almohads, they were forced to scape to the Christian Kingdoms, that situation was really decisive to complete The Reconquista.
In that scenario, we might well wonder:
- Are souther spaniards settlers from the North or are descendents from these mozarabs?
The dream to recover their land in The Reconquista, I think that comes more from the mozarabs than the Castilians.
