    Bullshit. Pigmentation is very unrealistic, with a "tolerance" bias. They also reconstructed Scythian Ice Maiden as Iranian looking, even though it is proven based on DNA that she was blonde and blue eyed...

    I think they may have got the prediction wrong on the skin tone for this one. They did the skin prediction on hirisplex but an error on the snp rs6119471 has resulted in a dark-black skin prediction. Given Cheddar man, Loschbour man ect all were derived on this marker I see no reason why this individual would have been ancestral. Taken from the hirisplex manual:

    '*The only SNP that may cause confusion and therefore must be converted (from NCBI’s forward orientation) is rs6119471. All other G/C, A/T SNPs are in the correct orientation for input or are opposite alleles i.e. SNP G/A, input requests C/T.'
