No one in Britain has a significant opinion about George Washington anymore, but the opinion in the UK in the 1770s was that it was bizarre to fight for freedom when 15% of your population is enslaved (England had banned slavery 3 years before the onset of the war). The British public was aware the leader of the 'freedom' faction was a slave-owner and they cried foul - even though, in general, the British public was supportive of the rights of the American colonists to get what they wanted - no taxation without representation, and their rights as Englishmen. George III really fucked the situation up. Even in Parliament, MPs argued against the brother war.
But he died over 200 years ago and no one really cares. There's a statue of him somewhere in London, maybe Trafalgar Square. I doubt you'd find anyone with an actively positive opinion about him, why would you have one if you're not American?
Anyway yes he was a traitor, of course, but that is an impassive judgement, it really doesn't matter to me.
