Default Ethnologue lists Italian as a major language in eight countries where it has no official status

    https://www.ethnologue.com/language/ita

N.B. The figures include both first and second-language speakers.

    The countries are:

Australia (272,000 speakers), Brazil (50,000 speakers), Eritrea (no figures given), France (829,000 speakers), Malta (234,430 speakers), Monaco (7110 speakers), Romania (1,412,950 speakers) and Somalia (4000 speakers).
