Croat youth goes conservative; elders stick with the left

Results of the first round of Presdential elections show interesting trends and suprising results.
Candidate of strongest left Party SDP (ex-communists), Zoran Milanović gained relative victory over current Croatian president, Kolinda-Grabar Kitarović, candidate of strongest Croatian party HDZ (centre-right/Christian Democrats)
Two of them are going to the second round.

Never in Croatian history has candidate of ''third way'', a non-party candidate, gained such large amount of votes. Dr. Miroslav Škoro (indipendant, right conservative) gained almost a 25% of total votes and only several thousand votes prevented him from entering historical second round.

Croatian youth until age 30 gave most of their trust to Škoro, man with clear conservative, Christian, and national values. Left liberal candidate Milanović ended last among youth when it comes to three biggest candidates.

When it comes to eldery voters (age 60 and above), Milanović won with very clear domination. Shows how old generations have significantly more leftist orientation than youth.

For the end:

This is just the beginning. We are going on Parliamentary elections and we are going for half million votes. Without us there will be no new Croatian government.
We will not make any coalition with two largest parties, two faces of the same system (HDZ-right wing of ex-Communist Party of Croatia, SDP-left wing of ex-Communist Party of Croatia), that are leading our country to destruction.
We will force great coalition between those 2 very similar policies, and that will be beginning of the end for Duopol, monopolistic rule of 2 Parties that brought us where we are today.
Our time is now! And we are coming. This time, there will be no stopping us.

PS: I was honored to be one of observers on election day for Dr. Miroslav Škoro in my home city Rijeka. Nobody gave us chance, we had no mainstream media behind us, no money and no party infrastructure.
We came so close, and next time we will cross the line.

I am honored to see I am majority in my generation, and not the minority. Future is ours!

I feel betrayed by Dalmatian and BiH Croats. Koli won there with ease. On the other hand I am proud about Zagreb, Miro has excellent result there.

Rijeka- no comment

In my electoral district (city centre), Milanović gained almost 50%. But, he won ''only'' 47% in Rijeka.
When social-democrat candidate with such charisma can't win more than 50% in ''Red Moscow'' or ''North Korea'' as my city is called, it's pretty alarming for the Left.

I voted for her in last election, all my family did. We have nothing against her. We have against Plenković and Euro-federalist, Merkel supporting, Brussels servant crowd behind her.
