How blond are white Americans?

its 17% as national whole, when you take into account Black Americans, Mexicans, Caribbeans, Asians etc. Looking at the level of blondness in 200 million White Americans only, it probably at the level as North Western European nations (25 to 35% percent, which is quite high). I seriously doubt Spain is 17% blonde, that is way too high

I cannot put numbers on it, but all I could say is that they have a decent rate of blondism, significantly higher than in southern Europe.

A huge percentage of them, however, are not "amazingly" light for southern European standards.

Indeed, lots of them aren't lighter than me, except super pale/Nordic people like Conan O'brien, Donald Trump, Leven Rambin, and the likes.

No, it's low if that figure counts all shades of blond in Spain. It's higher than 17% for Spain. As for white Americans, it must be higher than 35%, if children (who are significantly blonder) are taken into account.

Some Northern European sub-groups actually don't high levels of blondism. Think of the Irish, who have high steppe admixture, highest occurrence of blue eyes in NW Europe, high rates of red hair and is firmly in the Northern European PCA plots, yet relatively low occurrence of blondness when compared to even more Southern Central Europeans.

Well, XenophobicPrussian has really strict criteria for blondism. He has said it himself and he has also said that these criteria may be biased. And, for light hair, no, light brown isn't included. We're only talking about blond hair here. And it's more than 17% for Spain and more than 35% for white Americans. As for the Irish, I agree, it's a bit weird. They also have high rates of jet black hair (hence the Black Irish). Their rates of jet black hair is bigger than most southern European countries.
