According to the survey, Mexico is only marginally less tolerant than the US. What's more, some Mexican states do now perform same-sex marriages.

Don't you homos kid yourself about "gay friendly" laws. You are still despised in much of the Western World. Leaving aside wholesale totalitarian theocracies like Iran and Saudi Arabia, one thing this survey does demonstrate is that, globally, there is not much correlation between how supposedly right-wing or left-wing a country's government is and what their laws and social attitudes towards homosexuality are.

There is not much correlation between what the public wants in relation to homo "marriage" and what the laws on it are. Nowhere in these "democratic" countries was the population consulted, before parliaments or supreme courts changed the laws and almost everywhere the majority of the population was against it.

Perhaps so, but Mexicans are still far less homophobic than eastern European peoples. Orthodox people are generally less tolerant of homosexuals than Catholics, even to the point where they'd perpetuate violence.
