    Cool Any Industrial/Electonic Musicians Here?

I happen to be hard at work in it right at the moment, manipulating things with mostly open-source sequencing software (LMMS, Hydrogen, etc).

I was wondering if anyone dabbled in the arcane ways of "The Rivethead"

Once in a while I make some lame attempts at doing something and then inevitably get distracted and leave it. Have a couple of keyboards, synths and other instruments lying around which all ought to see more use.

As for sequencing software, it's been mostly Cakewalk or Cubase for me. I tried going down the Linux route a while back and sort of got things working with an opensource ASIO driver and WINE but got frustrated by the inevitable problems with certain apps.

Ended up sticking to XP, not because it is the best OS since Swiss Cheese but because it was least amount of "overhead" (ie work involved) to get apps running. It also supports a fairly large set of existing software and hardware.

It is of course possible to use Linux, depends what one's requirements are.

As for musical taste mine is probably more electronic than industrial but it's all relative to the artist / songs.

What's an example of a good, cheap drum machine?

Are you talking about the one's you program tangibly, as opposed to on a PC or Mac?

    300'th post, mofos.....

I just meant something like your garden variety beatbox by the likes of Alesis, Yamaha, Roland etc. You should be able to pick one up cheap in a second hand music equipment store.

They're usually more fun / easier to mess with and program than struggling with a computer.
